Im Back!!

Hi everyone sorry I have not posted anything for a while but I have been caught up spending time with Darren as its his holiday at the moment.
Whilst I have been busy there have been some great films on, the most recent is The Time Travellers Wife, it is a must see film for any romantic and will reduce you to tears.
And football we have missed a few Millwall games as well but I am pleased to tell everyone we won last night 2-0 with the goals scored by Dave Martin and Neil Harris.
I am going on holiday tomorrow so you wont hear much from me but remember there is a big game on tuesday Millwall V West Ham, which i hoping will be on tv so i wont miss.
Hope you all have a great week and i will tell you all about the game, cinema and my holiday when i get back.

Cinema Review: The Proposal

This film is definately not to be missed. I was laughing the whole way through. It had a mixture of laughter, sadness, wierdness, and a little bit of nudity.

I wont say much more as i dont want to ruin the film but here is a trailer to get you in the mood.

Weekend Away With Darren: Harry Potter Fan Trips and London

On the 29/5 I posted about the Harry Potter Fan trips and this weekend was the big event, which i was lucky enough to attend.
Darren and I went on the Hogwarts Express from London to Oxford and back again. On Saturday and Spent the evening in London.
On Sunday we spent a lot of time in London and then went to the Millennium Dome now known as the O2.

Saturday

We had to get up early to get to Paddington by 9. When we got there there were a lot of people in Harry Potter costumes. The train arrived and we took many pictures (I will be posting once sorted through them). On the way to Oxford the train consisted of the stream train beginning and the carriages used in the Harry Potter films.

Once we got to Oxford we went on the walk to some of the Harry Potter sets, unfortunately they were very packed and the library which is the set for Hogwarts library and hospital wing was closed.

Darren and i enjoyed a hour punting which is famous in Oxford and Cambridge, it was hard as the bowl was too long for me as I am short and I am got good at working the paddle, but it was a romantic experience laying on the punt whilst Darren done all the hard work .

We went back on the Hogwarts Express to London Paddington which was now run by diesel but was the real carriages once again. On the way back we sat in the chairs that were used in the most recent film, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Where as on the way we were in the carriages used by Harry Potter in the films, with the sliding doors.

Once back in London, we went to our hotel which was definitely a good choice of Darren, The Strand Palace, it has 2 restaurants and a bar and many rooms of a nice size and layout.

For dinner we went to Bella Italia which is a common restaurant in London, and great food, we then walked through London including Covent Garden and China Town. Darren also took me to Cyber Candy, a shop that sells lollipops with insects in them.

Sunday

Sunday was a pack day we went to, The British Museum first, which was very interesting as I love Egyptian history and it is full of Egyptian things. We did not get to see everything and was there for around 2 hours, it is a fantastic hotel and was worth the time.

We also went to the London Dungeons, I have been there before but always find it interesting, I love history and the dungeons is about history you don’t always hear about, including the Plague and famous people like, Sweeney Todd and Jack the Ripper.

We visited one of my favourite places in London, Nameco station, a great place to visit if you want to find one place with dodgems, bowling, arcades and a bar in one place. The dodgems are fast and the games are like none anywhere else and suitable for all ages.

By this time we were running late for The Body Works at the o2 centre, when we got there i was worried as it was not like things i normally see, but it was very interesting seeing people skeletons and what things like smoke and old age does to parts of your body and I especially liked the Giraffe skeleton.

We finished our day with a Thai meal which was wonderful, it was only my second Thai meal and I will definitely be having a third.

Cinema Information: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

The film finally came out yesturday, after so many months waiting, but was the wait worth waiting for??

I am a huge Harry Potter fan, i have read all the books countless times, watched all the films and its my favourite series. But after making sure i saw this film on the first day of release, i have to admit i was disappointed.

All the actors were fantastic as always, special congratulations to Tom Felton tho who was fantasic, it was just the story line that was bad.

It didnt quite feel like Harry Potter, they added a whole scene tha was not in the book at all and missed out information that i find vital for the next, and final film.

I am planning to watch it again and be less critical as the film it self was good, the effects and everything was superb, i just dont think it lived up to the expectation Harry Potter fans expect.

Cinema Information: Public Enemies

In my opinion the best thing about this film was Johnny Depp. it went slow and was very boring most of the time. But for some one who likes history as i do, i did find the historic story interesting just i think the film could have been a lot better and more entertaining.

There are a lot more films at the cinema worth more of a watch e.g. My sisters keeper, which was very sad and emotional definitly worth a watch if you like a good cry at the cinema and The hangover which has to be one of the best comidies i have ever watched.

As for Terminator and Transformers, i never wanted to watch either but went with my boyfriend and really enjoyed, so thank you Darren for convincing me to watch them with you.

Each time i see a new film at the cinema i will write a review so check to see if it will be a film for you.

Harry Potter Fan Trips

For all you Harry Potter fans like me here is some fantastic trips of a life time you should consider.

If you can only go away from work for one day then what is better than this?

On July 18, the train will depart from Paddington Court Station in London in the morning for travel to Oxford in the carriages used for the “Hogwarts Express” in the filming of the Harry Potter movies.
